Psychological Testing

What is an assessment? Dependent upon the purpose, the assessment/evaluation will typically:

Include an approximately one hour-long interview to discuss a wide range of topics (history, behavior, current symptoms, and situation)
Be a combination of telehealth (online or by phone) and in-person visit(s)
Have standardized measures (psychometric tests) that may assess intelligence, language, academic skills, personality, attitudes towards food, adaptive skills, problem-solving, and others
Last 2 to 4 hours
Have a brief feedback or summary of findings

Brief Diagnostic Evaluation

A brief evaluation for general functioning, typically an option for individuals that have a well-documented history or want a general overview

Intellectual Disability

Evaluations to determine if a child (over the age of 6 years) or an adult has an intellectual disability. There is also the options for a Determination of Intellectual/Developmental Disability (DID) report template

IQ testing

Evaluations for TWC-VRS

These assessments are for Texas Workforce Commission- Vocational Rehabilitation Services clients that have been referred for a special type of evaluation. Contact your VR counselor for more information

Autism Spectrum Disorder

Comprehensive evaluations for Autism Spectrum Disorder for ages 5 and older. Including document review and request, testing, and interview with family.

Specific IQ testing for program entry, no additional testing request

Prepare

Make arrangements for transportation, outside duties, and/or technology
Try to get a good night's sleep
Have a meal approximately two hours before
If telehealth will be used for your case:
- Make sure you can access your email from a laptop, tablet, or computer with camera
- Be in an area in your home with good lighting and reception
